Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers
Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers - When it was first built in 1927 by the well known hotelier E. M. Statler and named Statler Hotel, this splendid hotel was considered as a prototype of the grand American hotel and was lovingly called “a city within a city.” One groundbreaking feature that stands out from all the other outstanding features is the fact that this was the world’s first hotel that offered radios and running water in every guest room.
The present day hotel was renamed as the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers and has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1977 and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America.
Located strategically in the heart of Boston and only three miles from the Logan Airport, the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers is a destination in its own right as it houses some of Boston’s best known restaurants, lounges and cafés that include the Todd English’s Bonfire Restaurant, the Whiskey Park Bar and Night Club, the McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, the Smith & Wolleynsky’s Steakhouse, the M. J. O’Connor’s Authentic Irish Pub, the Finale All Desserts Restaurant and the Swan’s Café Lobby Bar & Restaurant.
Under the same roof of this stately hotel one can also find a regal ballroom (the Imperial Ballroom) that accommodates two thousand people under sparkling crystal chandeliers and gilded balconies as well as a smaller and more intimate ballroom (the Hancock Room) that accommodates up to fifty people in a New England and old Boston ambiance. Events hosted in both of these ballrooms are stylishly catered and served by the hotel’s own staff of world class chefs.
Within its fifteen (15) floor construction of elegance, grace and warmth, the Boston Park Plaza and Towers also features the following:
- Thirty six (36) meeting rooms each equipped with audio and visual services, full service business centers and high speed wireless Internet connectivity.
